February 2019

As part of Nottingham’s amazing Festival of Science and Curiosity, the team set up a Symposium in the historic Council House (include fly through link https://vimeo.com/318457467/b080b4faac ) to showcase real life scientific research in schools. Students from over 20 school were there to present their research findings. The overriding essence of the event was the keen enthusiasm from the children in the room.

We are looking to expand the excitement and enthusiasm that the Symposium encouraged to include more secondary schools next year in line with fulfilling the Gatsby Practical Science Benchmark 8 (Investigative projects- Students should have opportunities to do open-ended and extended investigative projects.)

Please look out for the opportunity to get some funding to help take part in some enjoyable science projects designed to inspire pupils and to connect with science in the world around them.
