The idea for Spring into Science came about from being inspired by watching the Royal Institution Christmas Lectures. Like the Christmas Lectures our very own Spring into Science was set up to introduce a young audience to physics through spectacular demonstrations delivered by Professors passionate about their field.

Professor Philip Moriarty and Professor Ed Copeland from our very own University of Nottingham delivered a fantastic lecture called Universal Harmonies- When physics meets music meets maths…

As you can imagine, from a title like that it was full of exciting scientific phenomena, spellbinding experiments and an enthusiastic young audience. See for yourself!

After the experiments, a panel of students and researchers took questions from the enthusiastic year 8 audience.

Professor Moriarty also wrote a blog about the event
